I couldn’t resist putting this picture here. It is part of the past. The people who built these dwelling walked into the past, leaving very little clue was to where they went. What most forget is how only by understanding the past are we able to move into the future. Without understanding the past, we are doomed to make the same mistakes as our ancestors.
With all of that said, I’m learning about websites and how not to make the same mistakes I did before. It is the same for writing, publishing and all the other things I’ve made mistakes on and am not having to correct before moving forward. As much as you would like to hide the mistakes, it isn’t going to happen. So, here is to learning from the past and moving on to the future.
From the Past
From the past is my first book. The title is the name of the main character. Needless to say, I learned not to do that again. So Abilene was my first attempt at writing a novel. I liked it because it was about an older woman who had been through a lot and persevered through it all. Yes, there is a happy ever after in the end, but it is how she gets there which makes the difference.
I do have to say my favorite secondary characters were Leland, her half-brother and Ghost, the horse which plays a decent minor role. The love interest Wade isn’t all that likable in the beginning, but then again, he didn’t care as he avoided most people other than his family. In the end, he is decent.
The book is found on Amazon .
I’ll go into the future in the next post.
