Would you change your past if you could?
How do you think that would affect you today?
When I saw this quote it took a few minutes for me to really understand what it meant. If we changed our past, it would change us into someone we aren't now. Who we are now is because of our past, be that good or bad. Everyone has a past. You, me, your best friend, and your worst enemy. Our past is an accumulation of those memories from our earliest years to the present.
I used to think that changing my past would make the present better until I realized I am who I am because of those memories. We all need to treasure our past. The past should teach us how to be a better person.
Another thing to remember it there would be no flowers or rainbows without the rain. To appreciate the good times, we have to have experienced the bad. Even when it seems you are drowning, the rain will stop and you will see the rainbows.
One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to think positive. We choose our paths in life and our mindset will make that path easy or hard. Getting up every morning and choosing to have a good day usually results in a good day. The power of thought can and will change your life for better of worse. As Henry Ford said, "Whether you believe you can, or believe you can't, you are correct." So, get out there and believe you can and make the present into a past you like.
